Holly Lodge Centre staff and volunteers recently benefited from a training and support workshop on special educational needs and disabilities (SEND) delivered by teachers from Paddock School. The session focused on inclusive practices and effective communication strategies for students with autism and other complex needs, including the use of Makaton and visual communication aids.
The Paddock School staff also expressed their gratitude for the enriching experiences their students have had at the Holly Lodge Centre. They highlighted the free Nocturnal Animals and Frogs, Toads and Newts workshops offered in January, funded by Help Nature Thrive, as particularly valuable. Paddock School teachers noted the positive impact of these sessions, observing that their students are now engaging in conversations about the animals and gardens at Holly Lodge.
