‘Nocturnal Animals’ On The Move!

Posted on: 6 May 2024

Following its successful introduction as this year’s Clarendon School Day event theme, we have taken Nocturnal Animals on the road! First stop – Roehampton Gate in the park where we met with families on 4th April as part of a Nature Roadshow. Working in partnership with The Royal Parks and Help Nature Thrive, we met with over 100 park visitors to deliver our sensory and craft driven workshop. Children tested their senses, foraged for badger food, explored animal tracks and so much more. For a second stop, we met with families at Pen Ponds on 13th April as part of The Royal Parks public engagement series on plans for a new café and enhanced landscape at Roehampton Gate. Not only did the many visitors have a chance to provide feedback and ask questions about the proposal, but children also got to test their knowledge around nocturnal animals and get hands-on with sensory play.

We created Nocturnal Animals to explore the lives of Richmond Park’s nocturnal animal friends and share that knowledge and hands-on experience with visitors to The Holly Lodge Centre and now the overall park itself. Who knows where we’ll take our Nocturnal Animals roadshow next?
