Working in partnership with 'Friends of Richmond Park Discoverers'' we spent a fantastic morning on the 17th February offering families a free 'Winter Tree Trail'.

Honing their map reading skills, families went on a Pembroke Lodge Gardens tree hunt to find and learn about some of the different types of tree we have, such as the Persian Ironwood and the Himalayan Birch.  Excitement levels were high at the varied activity stations for the children (and the adults!) to enjoy, providing a fun, outdoor, educational experience!  Our visitors explored  tree slices, identified trees from their branches using identification charts, planted seeds in paper potters and more.  It was a wonderful day which was enjoyed by both the learners and the volunteers.
