What a busy summer! With visitors from Shooting Star Chase, Young Carers, Me To and Co and more!

On the 1st August a group of young people from Shooting Star Chase Hospice and their families visited the Centre for a Sensory Day. We explored the sounds, sights, smells and tastes of the nature trail and created butterflys from coffee filter papers.

Once again the wonderful Dragon Drama team of Rossy, Harry and Neil joined us for 3 days of workshops for Young Carers groups. The children from Merton, Hounslow and Richmond boroughs built dens on the nature trail and created drama based around Greek Myths. We are so pleased to be able to offer these young people a fun break from their caring roles.

A new activity for us this summer - a visit from Hen Corner! Sara Ward brought 5 lovely chickens from her urban smallholding in West London to the nature trail. Young Carers from Kingston came for the day and had the opportunity to touch or hold them and even took home a fresh egg!

The summer has also seen visits from adult groups - the London Explorers Club and Teddington and Hampton Wick Voluntary Care group - who have come along to our Reminisance Soap Workshops. These take place in our very special Victorian Pharmacy and is a hands-on session creating two types of soap. Plus we provide tea and cake - very popular!

Our final activities of the summer include a Forest School inspired morning with children from Roehampton ROCKS and a week of puppetry and drama with Knots Arts - who work with children with social communication difficulties.

Overall a fantastic Summer 2018! For more photographs of all the activities visit our facebook page
