On Sunday 29th July we were very fortunate to have two teams of intrepid cyclists riding for us in the Prudential Ride London event.
Ride London is an extremely demanding 100 mile road race through London and Surrey, taking in such “beauty” spots as Leith Hill and Box Hill. This year, the event was made even more demanding with torrential rain, high winds, low temperatures and very slippery roads.
The Richmond Park team set up an excellent and much needed support base for us at Pembroke Lodge manned by Carole and Mike Smythe, Johanna Williams and Kerry James.
Our two teams of Andy and Pete and Tim, Tim and Will both completed the course safely in very creditable times, but, more importantly for us, also raised £2,500 so far for The Holly Lodge Centre.
This represents a wonderful amount which, as we all know, takes a huge amount of effort to raise. We are all extremely grateful to all five riders for their courage, generosity and effort in supporting the Centre in such a magnificent way.
Both teams' fundraising pages are still open if anyone would like to show their appreciation for their sterling efforts:
