How you can help

Volunteering Opportunities

Volunteers helping with a group visit We always need help with groups that come to visit. We have a wide range of visitors from pre-school children to the elderly. The majority have special needs and we aim to help all our visitors get the maximum out of their time with us.

At the moment we are particularly looking for people with a teaching background who would be willing to take more responsibility for leading sessions so that we can accept more visitors.

Volunteers also help in the office with general administration, PR, fund-raising and at fund-raising events. Others help with the garden and general maintenance work.

Volunteers learning Victorian school drill There is an on-going training programme for volunteers including an induction morning and a short health and safety course for new volunteers. A mentoring service is offered and a volunteer’s handbook provided. We always have a summer BBQ and a Christmas party!

If you think you can help in any way then please contact the Project Manager to arrange to come and see the Centre and have an informal chat.

Current Vacancies

We are currently looking for people to lead and assist group activities in all areas but especially with Children’s groups and people with special needs. For more information please look at the do-it website.

The Centre cannot survive without the volunteers!

Fundraising and Donations

The Holly Lodge Centre relies on financial donations and fund-raising events to continue its work. Donations from visitors help us along the way. The Centre needs to raise £85,000 per year to allow us to cover our annual running costs and to continue the work and development of the Centre.

If you would like to raise money via an event, you can make a page for online fundraising here

We also benefit from gifts in kind. So please help us if you can and contact the Project Manager.
